The proper protection of your critical assets can help you get your business back up and running quickly in the event of a fire. Your electrical panels, laboratories, electrical panels and power supply rooms all contain the critical assets you need to continue business as usual. Different fire extinguishers, which may put out a fire, may also cause damage to the areas and/or equipment you need to protect the most. In these cases, carbon dioxide extinguishers are clean agent units and provide an excellent alternative for fire protection.
These units are specifically designed for Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C(energized electrical equipment) fires. One of the main benefits to this alternative is that there will be no residue to clean up after discharge. Carbon Dioxide extinguishers utilize a non-corrosive and non-conductive agent. The Carbon Dioxide (CO2) extinguishers can displace the oxygen in a small and confined space creating an environment where it is difficult to breathe. It is recommended to vacate the premises as soon as possible after discharge until the oxygen level in the room has time to return to normal.
CARBON DIOXIDE being an inert gas works by expelling the oxygen, thereby suffocating the fire. It is suitable for common industries where small class B or electrical risks occur. It should be accompanied by a suitable class A extinguisher.
